About Browser Developers
Browser Developers is a browser engineering team. We build and maintain custom Chromium and Firefox browsers, browser extensions and cross-platform desktop apps for clients, and we keep them current after launch.
About the role
You will build desktop applications with a web interface and a Node.js backend, and take them all the way to signed, auto-updating releases on every platform.
Responsibilities
- Build Electron apps with a secure main and renderer process setup.
- Add native integration: file access, tray, menus, deep links and notifications.
- Package, sign and publish installers with auto-update.
- Keep Electron and its dependencies current with security releases.
Requirements
- Solid JavaScript or TypeScript and Node.js experience.
- Experience shipping at least one Electron app to real users.
- Understanding of Electron security: context isolation, sandboxing and IPC validation.
- Experience with a UI framework such as React or Vue.
Nice to have
- Electron Builder or Electron Forge in production.
- Native modules and node-gyp.
- Experience migrating an app between Electron and Tauri.
