About Browser Developers
Browser Developers is a browser engineering team. We build and maintain custom Chromium and Firefox browsers, browser extensions and cross-platform desktop apps for clients, and we keep them current after launch.
About the role
You will build applications with a web interface on the operating system web view and a Rust backend, and deal with the platform differences that come with that.
Responsibilities
- Write the Rust backend and commands for Tauri apps.
- Build the web front end and connect it to native code safely.
- Handle differences between WebView2, WKWebView and WebKitGTK.
- Package and distribute apps for Windows, macOS and Linux.
Requirements
- Working Rust experience with Cargo and async code.
- Experience building web front ends in TypeScript.
- Awareness of desktop packaging, signing and updates.
- Ability to test on all three operating systems.
Nice to have
- Production experience with Tauri 2.
- Electron background and experience choosing between the two.
- Embedded browser work with CEF or WebView2.
